Life and careerEdit
Born on June 26, 1951 in Astoria, Queens, New York as Robert John Davi, Davi had an interest in singing from a young age. In high school, he was known for his operatic singing voice, and was awarded first place in New York State School Music Association's solo singing competition. He attended Hofstra University to study acting, which he later graduated from.
His first film role was in Contract on Cherry Street. Other film roles include The Goonies, Die Hard, License to Kill, Showgirls, and The Expendables 3. He has also acted in a number of television shows, such as Charlie's Angels, TJ Hooker, Stargate: Atlantis, and Criminal Minds. Davi has also done voice acting for a few video games, notably as Rtas 'Vadum in Halo 2 and Halo 3, as well as Juan García Cortez in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. He also made an appearance in the music video for the Jonas Brothers' song "Burnin' Up".
The Dukes was the first film Davi directed; he also wrote, produced, and acted in the movie.
Davi began to focus on his singing career in 2011, and put out the album Davi Sings Sinatra: On The Road To Romance later that year. He has released two Christmas singles: one in 2013 titled "Mistletoe and Holly", and one in 2016 titled "New York City Christmas".
