John Warren Field was a filming location for The Goonies. It is used as the high school football field where Andy is seen practicing at the beginning of the movie.
Behind the scenes[]
John Warren Field was built in 1928 and named after John A. Warren, who taught basketball at Astoria High School, ultimately leading them to two state championships.
It was torn down in 2015 to make was for expansions for the Columbia Memorial Hospital, thirty-five years after the movie's filming.[1] Fans gathered to celebrate the field's history prior to its demolition on June 6th.[2]
