–Irene Walsh, to her eldest son

Irene Walsh is Irving Walsh's wife and the mother to Mikey and Brand. She lives in the Goon Docks of Astoria, Oregon with her family.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Irene has blonde curly hair; on occasion, she wears it up in a bun. Her left arm is in a sling, which keeps her from being able to pack for the family's move.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Irene, offscreen injured her arm, requiring her to have it in a sling for speedy recovery. Unable to pack for the move by herself, she hires a house maid, Rosalita, to accompany her around town and prepare everything for the next day. She comes home when the Goonies are there, requesting Data to use the back door next time and instructing the boys to clean up the mess they make. She also tells Brand not to let Mikey leave home, due to poor weather rolling in. She leaves with Rosalita to take care of more chores, and returns home to find Brand tied up to a sofa chair with his workout gear, thinking he was a victim of working out too hard. When she discovers Mikey's run off with his friends, she orders Brand to go after him.

Later, when she is reunited with her sons, she hugs them and doesn't let herself worry while Brand and Andy kiss. Rosalita discovers Mikey's marble bag and the gems inside are emptied out into Irene's hand for everyone to see.
