George Robotham (January 10, 1921 - February 1, 2007) was a stuntman who portrayed the Prison Guard in The Goonies.

Life and career[edit | edit source]

Born on Jauary 10, 1921 in Sacramento, California, Robotham studied business administration at UCLA, where he also played football. He married German actress Karin Dor in 1988.

His first role as an actor was for stunt performances on the Batman television series. His career as a stuntman continued, with him taking interest in underwater scenes, as well as combat-intensive scenes.

He starred in many films, often uncredited, including movies such as The Godfather: Part II, The Poseidon Adventure, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Joan of Arc, Flashdance, and Mars Attacks!.

Robotham passed away on February 1, 2007, due to complications from Alzheimers. He was 86 when he died.
