The Goonies are a group of kids who live in the Goon Docks area of Astoria, Oregon.
Details[]
The Goonies are a group of "rejects", as said by Chunk, named for the area of Astoria of which they live. They are often bullied by the richer kids who live on the Hillside, including Troy. Despite this, Stef is best friends with Andy and seems to be on friendly terms with the popular kids.
Involvement[]
The Goonies, in an attempt to have one last hurrah, as well as trying to save their home from Mr. Perkins' plan to build a golf course over the Docks, discover a treasure map in Mikey's attic and set off to find it.
Midway through the night, Andy becomes a Goonie after choosing them over Troy's bucket. Sloth also becomes a Goonie, after saving Chunk from capture, as well as the Goonies from the Fratellis and the collapsing cavern.

The Goonies oath was initially meant to be said at the start of the movie. It was cut in the final product. Andy was also meant to deliver the oath after refusing Troy's help at the bottom of the well, but this ended up being a deleted scene.
