The East Mooring Basin was a filming location for The Goonies.
Involvement[]
Part of the car chase between the Fratellis and the Astoria police takes place on the East Mooring Basin; Stef is also seen working there, most likely working for her father.
Behind the scenes[]
In real life Astoria, East Mooring Basin is a part of the Port of Astoria. It extends out into the Columbia River for boat owners to dock their vessels on and sees extensive use by various fishers. Currently, the dock requires severe repair due to rotting infrastructure from poor repairs done in 2010.[1][2]
