The Clatsop County Jail is the Astoria jailhouse that held Jake Fratelli before his escape with the help of his family.
Involvement[]
The jail holds numerous criminals, of which a Prison Guard watches after. With a trick involving a pipe for support, Jake tricks him into thinking he's dead, and then escapes outside, where his brother Francis is pouring gas around the front of the prison. Igniting the line of gasoline, the Fratellis make an escape down Duane Street with the police in hot pursuit.
Behind the scenes[]
The Clatsop County Jail served as a functioning jail from 1914 to 1976.[1]
It was later repurposed as the Oregon Film Museum, which houses information and genuine props from a number of movies filmed in Oregon, including The Goonies.[1]
