The Astoria Historical Museum is a museum in Astoria, Oregon. Irving Walsh serves as the curator.
Details[]
The museum features retrospectives on a number of topics relating to Astoria's history. At the time of the Goonies' adventure to find One-Eyed Willy's treasure, it is hosting an exhibit about "Pirates of the Pacific".
Involvement[]
Artifacts and pirate memorabilia previously held at the museum was later stored in the attic of the Walsh residence. This included an old treasure map and a doubloon to go along with it.
The Goonies pass by the museum on their bike ride down to Cannon Beach and wave hello to Irving while he is working.
Behind the scenes[]
In real life, the Historical Museum is the Captain George Flavel House Museum, an old 19th century home converted into a museum about Victorian era life; it sits across Duane Street from the Oregon Film Museum (the Clatsop County Jail in The Goonies).
