Life and careerEdit
Anne Ramsey was born as Angelina Mobley on March 27, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska. Initially taking an interest in theater over film, she acted in numerous Broadway shows in the 50s, where she met her husband, Logan Ramsey.
Her first film role was in 1971 in the movie The Sporting Club. She began acting on television as well, and starred in productions from both, including Wonder Woman, Little House on the Prairie, Murder, She Wrote, and ALF.
Her most famous acting roles were as Mama Fratelli in The Goonies and Momma Lift in Throw Momma from the Train, both roles netting her numerous "Best Actress" awards at shows such as the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes.
She was diagnosed with esophageal cancer prior to production of The Goonies and had surgery to remove parts of her jaw and tongue because of it. She developed a heavy slur as a result.
Her cancer returned in 1988, and she passed away due to it on August 11 of the same year. She was 58 when she died.
- Ramsey was a character actor who played similar roles in almost everything she acted in. The The Goonies and Throw Momma from the Train sees her as a disgruntled old mother.
