All Wet is a water park located somewhere in Astoria, Oregon.[1]
Involvement[]
Before Mikey's Grandpa had come to live in the Goon Docks with his family, he originally lived near the All Wet water park which Mikey used to visit when he was younger.[1]
When the Goonies went in search of One-Eyed Willy's treasure and explored the caves beneath Astoria to find it, they stumbled upon strange water tunnels that were more like water slides than anything else except they were filled with rocks and perilous stalactites and eventually led to the hiding place of One-Eyed Willy's long lost ship, the Inferno. After having ridden through the perilous water tunnels, Mikey compared his experience to riding the water slides at All Wet, except One-Eyed Willy's water tunnels were far more exciting than anything All Wet had to offer.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
All Wet originally appeared in the earlier script of The Goonies but as with many other elements such as Grandpa and the Stop 'N Snack, it never had a chance to appear in the final version of the movie or even shot as a deleted scene due to time constraints. However, it was fortunately included in The Goonies novelization which was based on the unaltered and unedited script as the novel was being written before the film's finalized version was edited and completed.[1]
